I remember well when my Dad was fighting his battle with cancer that he remarked on just that. He said when he read John Doe fought the battle of cancer they were not kidding because it was a daily battle.
As an observer of a friend who is now going through this same battle I am seeing another side of it. With my Dad I guess I was too close to the situation.
While my friend has had surgery he has chosen to not undergo further treatment. That being said, I have to tell you this is a man of amazing will. His wife has acknowledged some of the terrible days that he has had and yet…he amazes me physically and spiritually. A lot of people are praying for him daily and the results are amazing. The hair on his head has grown back in just a few short weeks to cover his large incision. He went from being unsteady on his feet to dancing with his wife in five days.
While his doctors may have given him a short time to live he is showing he is planning on LIVING with the time he has left.
Doctors don’t know all the answers and they don’t know the limitations of the human spirit and faith. While doctors may tell you your time is up…God says NOT YET!
It is so important to not just be physically healthy but to also be spiritually sound. I don’t mean to just show up in church on Sunday I mean you have to build a deep spiritual connection with God. That kind of connection is truly amazing!
God bless and have a great day.
