The Right Path

The Path

As the picture implies there is a path. It can be simple or misleading with lots of treacherous detours. While this is election day it is not just any election day but one that will ask that question…not just who is the right man for the job…but more importantly who can lead us down the right path.

Don’t close the page yet my focus is not on politics! Pathways can lead us to many things: a career, education, romance. During your lifetime how many times have you had to choose a path? If your life has been like mine there have been quite a few pathways.

The Uncertain Space

Don’t find yourself in that uncertain space. A bad decision may have consequences but no decision will leave you stuck in a place where moving forward could be difficult at best.

So the moral of this story is choose wisely the path you walk down. The results could be life changing!

Have a great day!

Black, White & More…a Sunday Venture

As much as we love to travel, now seems to be a difficult time to do that but we don’t let that deter us completely. Unplanned short trips sometimes reap the most rewards. Today we ventured out about forty minutes from our home to the Rock Ridge Community. Below are a few pics from our short adventure.

Home alone… this old structure while not fancy is still a reminder of a previous lifestyle. This was someone’s home.
While this may not look like much to the average eye, I love taking geometric shots. Look at the different lines and angles.
This old barn, while a little different, still made an interesting shot against the soft edge of the flowers on the fence.
A simple pathway can make for a tranquil setting. That is a stream in the background.
This may not be the best shot of the water but it is the overall look that caught my eye. I had to stand at the edge of the road so I could not get a better shot of the water itself. The one thing I value in photography is privacy and respect.
For those who prefer color, here are a few “green” shots.

Hope you enjoyed this journey with me. Don’t be afraid to step out and capture life. Have a great day.

A House With No Name

A house with no name in days of old could tell many tales or full of lost souls. Its windows are broken and its doors have lost its charm, its broken floor could cause harm.

And yet you can imagine amidst the dust and wethered boards an untold story of working hands on piles of wood cords.

The story we may not know but it is not quite at the end for this house is still standing just ahead around the bend.

A Black And White Moment

As a professional photographer, you learn to adapt to equipment changes and processes. One thing I have always loved is black and white shots. Even the most boring subjects seem to come alive in detail.

While I was doing my training and yes, shooting with a manual 35mm camera, my most enjoyable moments were in the darkroom developing my prints. Most photographers now can’t comprehend the difference between film and digital. The difference in quality is simply this; in film photography the camera sees and prints and exact copy of the image you have taken, in digital you are simply getting a computerized interpretation which limits quality. There is nothing in shooting digitally than can compare to watching your own prints come alive right before your eyes. Seeing the images appear in an otherwise blank piece of paper is simply amazing. I still shoot use these cameras and just sent off a number of rolls so I will post some of the pics from those when I get them.

In the meantime, here is my most recent black and white print. I simply call it “Among The Lillies”.
