Let me just say I don’t typically write about politics but this is not so much about politics as it is about attitude. I don’t always watch the SOTU address but I had a gut feeling I needed to this week.
Regardless of your party affiliation to watch this important speech you had to be moved. Regardless of whether or not you like Trump you should at least respect the man and more importantly the office he holds.
This speech was different from most of his speeches. It wasn’t all about him it was about America. A large portion of his time addressed grieving family members, victims of violence and survivors of wars past.
Pride flowed out of his mouth as he ordered metals to be distributed to military and law enforcement heroes. Throughout the two-hour speech, Americans stood and cheered not just for the President but also for these heroes and victim families. There was one section of the room that was quiet except for selected remarks and displays of rebellion. They didn’t cheer they didn’t stand. And yes the President called them out as he should have.
It is one thing to have a difference of opinion it is quite another when that opinion causes adults to act like spoiled rebellious children! They didn’t hurt the President or his credibility. They were an embarrassment to a nation. While they drown in their bad attitude the rest of the country will continue to love God and Country. We will continue to rebuild a nation with love and honor.
Let not your hearts be troubled by the sinners of this world but share the love of Jesus.
Have a blessed day.
