ChaChing…. And Roadtrips

If you are a gambler then you are already familiar with places like Vegas and Atlantic City. While I get some people may have a different view on gambling and here is mine.

If you go to church on Sunday morning but hit the bingo parlors on Sunday night you have sinned as much as any person in Vegas. Let me clarify. The act of gambling or gaming in itself is not a sin. The love of money IS a sin. God has to always come first. When I walk into a casino I always say, God’s will be done. Sometimes that is to win and sometimes it is to lose. I play for the game…not for the money. Yes, its nice to win on occasion but it is only worth it if you tithe from your winnings. You know the quote…render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what is his.

For me it’s about the adventure. I love traveling so whether I’m catching a plane to Atlantic City or taking a drive to Danville, VA the thrill is the same. It’s getting away from the problems of life at least for a day.

With the prospect of four more casinos coming to our state I don’t know why city officials in those towns are even questioning their benefit. In most if not all cases casinos are placed in low income areas providing badly needed jobs for those areas. Think of it in a positive way. Would you rather see homeless people in your neighborhood or a clean pristine casino that can train them in a job.

If you are new to gambling enjoy the adventure but put God first and gamble responsibly.

Have a great day. Every day can be an adventure.

I love art, especially photography and painting. My next addition is crafts or primarily needlecrafts. And as if that was not enough, I am a genealogist.
