2025….New Beginnings

Well, 2025 has already come in with not only a new president but also with new hope and promise for the future.

Today, it brought in new fallen snow, something we haven’t seen in eastern North Carolina in a while. When my little doxie had to go out this morning, his first response was with clear rejection when he stepped out the back door to snow almost the height of his leg. He immediately made a u-turn and was shaking the show off his legs as he came back through the door. It wasn’t until my husband cleated a path across the deck and down the steps that he reluctantly ventured out to do what he needed to do.

No, snowman for me. As I bundled up, my husband looked at me and said, “You’re not really y going out?” Of course, I respond with an emphatic.”Yes. ” I always take pictures of the snow even if I can’t get any further than my back door.

My husband worries about me falling, but I would rather risk a fall than have no fun at all. I am always cautious and very intune to the needs of my body and the conditions around me.

Here’s my yard…

Advice to older adventurers…

Wear multiple layers of clothes.

Wear sweater-type socks as opposed to cotton based socks or 2 layers of socks.

A thick coat or a coat/sweater combination.

Sunglasses – yes, I said it. Most people forget to protect their eyes.

For the mobility challenged, Don’t miss the opportunity to get out but take that cane or mountain walking stick for balance.

Limit you ventures out to thirty minutes or less to prevent overexposure to the cold. I usually do 15 and then I can do more than one trip out.

Have fun in the snow guys. Load up on some good old hot chocolate or warm beverage of your choice to warm from the inside out.

I love art, especially photography and painting. My next addition is crafts or primarily needlecrafts. And as if that was not enough, I am a genealogist.
