Hope you are starting your new year with lots of motivation to create great art.
As my first exhibit is ending with no sales I refuse to let that tamper with my desire to create. What drives you to create? When I was writing music my husband always said it was emotion. Now I find it still can but I think it is more important in this ever-changing society to convey a message.
I am motivated more towards Southwest art because of my love and admiration for our native american people.
I’m also playing around with different types of styles trying to find my genre. Whatever I do I don’t just want to throw paint on a canvas but I want to share the spirit of the piece.
If you are not sharing a part of yourself in your work then it is not completely. Find that motivation that will lead you to take that extra step, add that extra detail that will make your work not just finished but magnifying. You want it to pull people in even in the small details.
