To Paint Or Not To Paint

A few weeks ago, I accidentally got paint on a pair of pants, which was not my intention. Today, I started the process to remedy that error.

I used a favorite image that my Dad often used because it gave good coverage. Using fabric markers, I carefully laid out the design.

While it looks okay like it is, I will go back over it with more detail using fabric or acrylic paint.

Don’t discard fabrics when these little mishaps happen. Oftentimes, there is a way to cover or recycle the item.

Have a great day.

Easy Peasy Crafting

I love easy useful craft ideas here’s one anybody can do. If you don’t have a fairy light to light up your yard here’s how easy they are to make.

Start with any size Mason jar ad remove the ring and lid. You will replace this with a fairy light solar kit you can find on Amazon. This is what the kit looks like :

You don’t get the jar but you do get the solar caps on the left attached to about 30 fairy lights. I get great bargains on jars at local auctions. On the back side of the light you flip the power switch to on and pull the paper blocker out. Drop the lights into your jar and hook the wire handle around the neck of the jar. Now you can proceed to twist the cap on tightly.

You can test your light by covering the top of the lid. You will see the lights quickly come on.

I make lights from pints up to half gallon size. Want to take it a step further? Check out the colored jars at Tractor Supply. I snagged some pink ones at a great price.

Hope you enjoy this easy craft.

Of Wings And Wire

Those that know me know I never stop looking for that next adventure in crafting. The past few weeks I have been tampering with metal in particular wire. While I have had experience beading I have not designed with wire itself.

While I love designing anything this is one art that has really tested my patience. I typically like things that I can complete pretty quickly with the exception of painting. I can do a painting in a few hours and sometimes it may take a week or longer.

I think some days there must be a little angel perched on my shoulder to keep me focused. Otherwise, I would surely wreak havoc with some of my projects.

Wire wrapping is not difficult but is time consuming. Here are some of my completed projects to date:

Flower Pot Crafting Part 2

I apologize for the delay in posting this part. In part one you saw the base for my mushroom/knome house. Now we move forward on making the roof and/or mushroom top. Take a terra cotta drain pan that fits large enough to go past the base of your bottom. (8″ pot 10″ drain pan). Paint the base color, I made mine a kind of murky brown so it would look natural. Not to worry it does not have to look perfect as nature is not perfect. Pain in the circles in a contrasting color, I chose white. Here is what it looks like.

When try place your pot upside down and then add the drain pan on top like this:

To complete this project pray with a water repellant or paint sealer. Thanks for following this craft project.
